This strip I did in SuperF*ckers way predates both nyan cat and the resurgence of My Little Pony.

Drive | Jim Rugg
Another phenomenal peice by Jim Rugg, done only with ballpoint pens and spiral notebook paper. The Notebook Nerd exhibition by Jim Rugg is on display at iam8bit in Los Angeles, California.
Jim Rugg has been on some kind of wild tear lately. If you can’t get to the iam8bit show, there’s always this Flickr set of his bananas pen drawings. Plus his new podcast, Tell Me Something I Don’t Know, which he cohosts with artist Jason Lex.
“Since I draw more or less like a robot, it’s good to have something human to inspire me every once in a while. While I dutifully admire the manly, punchy gags of Peter Arno and Charles Addams, the “old school” New Yorker cover artists I think most about are actually all women. Ilonka Karasz’s bucolic diorama-like vistas and the unapologetic warm sentiment of Edna Eicke stir up fond memories of childhood with a tactile power truly unusual for drawings intended only for print.” — Chris Ware, on the New Yorker covers that inspire him.

Artist Dain Fagerholm makes these incredible 3D illusions out of rough, sketchy drawings.
